Thomas Lash poured in 18 points and Bishop Diego turned in a strong defensive effort in beating Kilpatrick, 68-51, in a non-league boys basketball game Tuesday night.
“We did a decent job holding their leading scorer to nine points. It was a good defensive effort,” said Bishop coach Dean Prophet.
Grant Sexton scored 11 points and Will Busch came off the bench to score 10 points, as the Cardinals won their first game.
Bishop (1-1) next plays Carpinteria in the opening round of the Fillmore Tournament on Thursday.
