SBCC jumped ahead 10-0 on Thursday in a men’s basketball game at Glendale but it was all the hometown Vaqueros after that as Glendale won 105-52.
The visiting Vaqueros (0-3) were outshot 62 to 19 percent in the opening half and trailed 56-14. After leading 19-14 at the 12:17 mark, Glendale closed the first half on a 37-0 run.
“It was a perfect storm in the wrong direction,” said SBCC coach Morris Hodges.
Glendale (1-0) hit 43-of-74 from the field (58.1 percent) while the Vaqueros struggled at 29 percent. Glendale also won the rebound battle 50-33.
Stephen Harper led SBCC with 14 points and five rebounds and Clark Stokes added nine points.
Santa Barbara travels to Victor Valley on Saturday, Nov. 23 for a 3 p.m. game.
