San Marcos got off to a slow start in its CIF playoff opener and never recovered, losing to Marlborough of Los Angeles in three sets in a Division 1-AA first-round match on Tuesday night. The scores were 25-14, 26-24. 25-17.
Marlborough held the Royals to just 20 total kills. The leaders were Anika Wilslon and Chloe Allen with six each. Katie Kim added four kills and Emily Allen three.
