Top-seeded Laguna Blanca will face No. 3 Pacifica Christian in the CIF Division 4-A girls volleyball championship match on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cerritos College in Norwalk.
Laguna Blanca advanced to its first final since 2009 with a four-set semifinal win over Crossroads on Tuesday night. Pacifica Christian outlasted Cate in five sets in the other semifinal.
This will be the second meeting between the schools. Laguna Blanca swept Pacifica Christian at Merovick Gym back on Oct. 9, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.
Pacifica Christian is in the CIF Final for the second straight year. Last year, the Seawolves lost in five sets to Rolling Hills Prep. Laguna Blanca fell to Rolling Hills Prep in a five-set semifinal last November.
This is the second Laguna Blanca team coach Jim Alzina has taken to the CIF title match. His 2009 squad fell to Whittier Christian in the 4-AA final.
The Owls won a CIF title in 2006 under Jason Donnelly.
Tickets for the CIF Final at Cerritos are $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID.
