Dos Pueblos regrouped after a first-set loss and defeated Ventura in four sets to knock the Cougars out of a second-place tie with San Marcos.
McKenna Goss pounded 20 kills, hit .326 and served six aces to lead the Chargers to a 22-25, 25-20, 25-15, 26-24 victory. They finish Channel League play at 3-5 and 6-11 overall. Ventura, which was tied for second with San Marcos, winds, up in third place with a 4-4 record.
“It feels great to end on a positive note,” DP coach Todd Garrett said. “These girls work really hard and we will miss our seniors very much.”
Natalie Klapp added 12 kills and Teah Burdick contributed eight kills.
Coach Garrett singled out Hillary Bean “for her integrity, positive attitude and being one of the most helpful players I’ve coached.”
