Meredith Amspoker and Emilee Krablin each won two sets in singles, and Bishop Diego coach Debbie Ekola said her doubles teams played their best tennis, but it wasn’t enough as the Cardinals fell at Covina, 14-4 in a CIF Division 5 wild-card match on Tuesday.
Bishop was making its first playoff appearance in girls tennis since 2008.
“I’m very proud of my team finishing the season 6-4 in League and 6-6 overall,” Ekola said. “Everyone has improved so much. I’m happy to see athletes continue to be excited about improving their skills for next season.”
