Fanny Johansson shot a 3-over-par 75 to win the WSC individual women’s golf title on Monday, and the Vaqueros completed a perfect 32-0 conference campaign with their eighth straight WSC meet victory.
Johansson shot 74-75 for a two-day total of 149 on the Alisal River Course in Solvang. Teammate Vanesa Villa was second on Monday at 77 and Megan Herrera added an 81.
Johansson, a four-time WSC medalist, was named Player of the Year in the conference and SBCC’s Chuck Melendez was the Coach of the Year. Johansson, Villa, Herrera, Saralisa Ortega and Haley True all made first-team All-WSC.
The Vaqueros (61-3) shot 319 on Monday to beat Canyons by 18 strokes. Canyons also earned a berth in the Southern Cal Regional, which will take place on the same Alisal River course on Nov. 10-11.
All six Vaqueroa, including Jackie Ramirez, qualified for the Regional as individuals.
