The CIF preseason polls are out for soccer, girls water polo and wrestling, and five local teams are listed among the top 10 in their respective divisions.
In boys soccer, Santa Barbara is ranked eighth in Division 1 and Cate is third in Division 6.
All three local Channel League schools are in the top 10 for Division 1 girls water polo. San Marcos leads the way at No. 5. Santa Barbaa is seventh and Dos Pueblos is eighth.
No South Coast area teams are ranked in girls soccer, but Lompoc’s Cabrillo is No. 2 in Division 5 and Righetti is ninth in Division 3.
Santa Ynez and Santa Maria are ninth and 10th, respectively, in Division 5 wrestling.
The CIF will release the basketball polls on Dec. 16.
