The Carpinteria football team can stop wondering about its postseason future. The Warriors are in the playoffs.
The CIF-SS selected Tri-Valley League teams to fill out the three at-large berths in the Northwest Division playoff bracket. Bishop Diego (8-2), Carpinteria (7-3) and Santa Paula (6-4) will all be playing on Friday night. Santa Paula went winless in league play, but the CIF took into account the strength of the league.
Bishop Diego, ranked No. 1 for most of the season, was third in last division poll and Carpinteria was seventh. Oak Park is No. 1 and Nordhoff is second.
Also landing at-large berths were Santa Ynez in the Western Division, and St.Joseph and Righetti in the Northern Division.
The CIF football playoff brackets will be announced Sunday.
