CIF Pairings were released on Sunday for the Southern Section’s Boys Water Polo playoff, and Dos Pueblos and San Marcos learned they would be both hosting first-round games on Thursday.
Dos Pueblos (21-7) earned the Division 2’s third seed as the Channel League champion. The Chargers will host either Chaparral or Costa Mesa depending on the outcome of the wild-card match on Tuesday.
San Marcos, which finished second in the Channel League, faces another league runner-up, Vista Murrieta. The winner advances to a probable matchup with top-seeded Agoura in the second round.
All CIF matches begin at 5 p.m. unless both teams agree on a time change.
UPDATE (11/12): San Marcos’ first-round match has been switched to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Pueblos plays at 5 p.m.
UPDATE (11/13): The start time for San Marcos’ first-round match has been changed again. It is now scheduled for 4 p.m. The start time for Dos Pueblos’ match has also now been changed to 4 p.m.
Second-round matches are on Saturday and the CIF championship will be decided on Saturday, November 23 at the William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine. Agoura has won three straight CIF titles, including the Division 2 championship last year.
