Dos Pueblos won the team and individual top honors at the County Cross Country Championships at River Park in Lompoc.
Addi Zerrenner defended her girls title, leading the DP girls to the team title. Zerrenner covered the 3-mile course in 17:36. She was followed by Adilene Aldapa of San Marcos in 18:33. DP freshman Christina Rice finished third in 18:30 and Ruth Hunter of Santa Barbara came in fourth in 18:44.
For the girls’ team scoring, DP’s other three were Natalie McClure (sixth, 18:58), Tatianna Schluep (seventh, 18:59) and Elaine McClure (ninth; 19:13) for a score of 26. San Marcos had 65 points and Santa Barbara was third with 111 points.
On the boys’ side, Cole Smith of Dos Pueblos was the overall winner with a time of 15:10. Eric Salas (15:16) and Ryan Sorenson (15:23) of San Marcos were second and third, respectively.
In the boys’ team competition, DP’s other scorers were Andrew McGuan (fourth, 15:30), John Greening (sixth, 15:43), Chris Wasjutin (eighth;.15:48) and brother Ian (11th, 15:55) for a score of 30. San Marcos was second with 48 points and Santa Ynez third with 106. Bradley Apodaca was Santa Barbara’s top finisher (20th, 16:39).
