Westmont Volleyball suffered its third loss in a row on Tuesday night, falling to Golden State Athletic Conference opponent Vanguard 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18).
Vanguard, ranked at number 18, improved to 14-5 overall and 3-3 in GSAC play, while 16th-ranked Westmont is 14-5, 2-4.
The Warriors started well, never trailing in the first set. Up 8-7, Westmont went on a 12-4 to run to take control of the set. Westmont produced a .417 attack percentage in the first set, notching 17 kills while committing just two errors.
However, Westmont could not extend its offensive juggernaut into the rest of the match. The Warriors hit just .098 in the final three sets as Vanguard took control.
Sarah McKinny led Vanguard with 19 kills and a .643 attack percentage. The Warriors were led by Marie Trudelle with 11 kills and a .346 attack percentage and Ciara Turner with 10 kills and a .259 attack percentage.
