estmont Volleyball, ranked at No. 16, made short work of road trip to Phoenix, sweeping Arizona Christian 25-18, 25-11, 25-15. The Warriors improved to 18-5 overall with the win and 4-4 in Golden State Athletic Conference play. The Firestorm fell to 1-17 overall and 0-8 in GSAC play.
Freshman Jessica McCann led the Warriors with 10 kills and a .300 attack percentage. Ciara Turner tallied eight kills on 10 attempts without an error, resulting in a .800 attack percentage. Madison Serrano also contributed eight kills while hitting .538. As a team, Westmont produced a .388 attack percentage.
Setter Heidi Thompson accumulated 25 assists while Serrano added 15 digs and 14 serve receptions. Tessa Martin also had 14 serve receptions and added seven digs.
The Warriors return to Santa Barbara for two home games next week. On Tuesday, Westmont will host #2 Concordia (18-1, 8-0) then on Saturday, the Warriors welcome San Diego Christian (4-17, 2-6).
