The Peak Performance Project (P3) has turned Santa Barbara into one of the epicenters for NBA basketball during the spring and summer months. UCSB Men’s Basketball’s all-time leading scorer and current member of the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Johnson, is one of the many NBA players that trains at P3, and attributes his athletic and physical improvement over the past two years to their leading-edge sports science methodologies. Recently, Dr. Marcus Elliott of P3, discussed Orlando and his development as an NBA athlete. The video includes footage of Orlando training at P3 and working with NBA skills coach and Santa Barbara High Alum, Ross McMains.
Johnson and the Pacers make their season debut tonight against the Orlando Magic. Johnson is entering his sophomore year with the Pacers after averaging four points in 12 minutes per game as a rookie.
At UCSB, Johnson became the program’s all-time leading scorer in just three years with the Gauchos. The California native led UCSB to two NCAA Tournament appearances before being selected in the 2012 NBA Draft.
