Santa Barbara High’s boys team placed fifth in the inaugural Interscholastic Beach Volleyball League’s season-ending tournament at Santa Monica State Beach.
The Dons didn’t have full squad for the day-long event as some players were taking the SAT exam on Saturday and others were out with injuries. That forced coaches Chad Arneson and Morgan Mainz to form new doubles pairings.
Redondo Union won the championship.
The future is bright for Santa Barbara as it loses only one player to graduation.
