SBCC freshman quarterback Josh Martin has been named Offensive Player of the Week for the American Pacific Conference.
The 6-4 freshman from Beaumont High was spectacular in his first start for SBCC, completing 17-of-22 passes for 198 yards and a school-record five touchdowns.
He also rushed 14 times for 66 yards and a 21-yard TD, giving him six touchdowns in the 44-7 win over L.A. Southwest.
The unbeaten Vaqueros (5-0) are ranked No. 22 in the state and 13th in Southern Cal in this week’s polls.
After a bye on Saturday, SBCC travels to Lancaster to take on Antelope Valley in a 7 p.m. game on Oct. 26.
