The click of high heels in the County Administration corridors will be replaced by the clatter of cleats on Tuesday, October 15 at 9 am when the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors will honor the Goleta Valley Girls Softball Association (GVGSA) Gold All-Star teams.
The Board of Supervisors will present a resolution recognizing the girls, ranging in age from 9-14, for their summer success in the All-Star season.
A highlight of the All-Star season was Coach of the Year Bill Wagner?s 14-anunder team, which took first place in the American Softball Association?s Western National Championships, competing against 27 qualifying teams from the Western United States.
Manager Mike Gerken?s 12-and-under team tied for 13th in the Western National Championships, competing against 44 qualifying teams from the Western United States. The 10-and-under division, managed by Keith Laughner, also tied for thirteenth tied for thirteenth in the Western National Championships, competing against 34 qualifying teams.
The presentation will be made at the County Administration Building, 105 E. Anapamu Streeet, on the 4th floor in the Supervisors Hearing Room.
