Presidio Sports’ County Football Fab 5

Things get really interesting from here on out for all of our Fab Five football teams.

While Lompoc and St. Joseph have already commenced league play, top-ranked Bishop Diego, No. 2 Carpinteria and fifth-ranked San Marcos kick things off this weekend.

The game of the week is Bishop Diego vs. Carpinteria in the Tri-Valley League opener Saturday at SBCC’s La Playa Stadium. Both teams mowed through their non-league opponents and appear to be in peak form going into this titanic.

San Marcos opens Channel League with a home game against Ventura on Friday. After starting out 5-0, the Royals’ character will be tested coming off a 48-7 drubbing at the hands of defending CIF Northwest Division champion Nordhoff
