Nana Akyen scored on a brilliant individual effort but it wasn’t enough as Westmont fell to Concordia 2-1 in a GSAC men’s soccer match on Wednesday.
Akyen tackled the ball from an Eagle player, eluded two more defenders on a nifty crossover dribble, and released a dart from 19 yards out that found the back of the net in the 18th minute.
Concordia would score the equalizer and the game winner in the second half. The Eagles tied the scored on a header off of a free kick to tie the score. The go-ahead goal came on a breakaway after a Westmont turnover.
The Warriors fall to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the GSAC. Concordia is 8-3, 5-0.
