Omar Montalvo racked up two goals and an assist on Friday afternoon, leading SBCC to a 5-1 men’s soccer victory over Hancock in Santa Maria.
The Vaqueros improved to 6-5 on the year and 6-3 in WSC action. Hancock is 1-11 and 1-7.
Santa Barbara, which led 3-0 after 22 minutes, has won three straight games by a combined 11-3.
Daniel Loveday found the net in the 10th minute on an assist from Dylan Murphy and Jamie Sporcic scored in the 17th minute on a pass from Montalvo.
Montalvo, a freshman from Dos Pueblos High, made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute with Richard Caine providing the helper. Hancock scored six minutes later and the Vaqueros led 3-1 at the half.
Montalvo got his second goal in the 60th minute on an assist by Adam Colton. Vicente Perez scored his first goal of the year in the 72nd minute with Kieron Coleman assisting.
SBCC hosts Canyons on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
