Laguna Blanca took its new CIF Division 4-A No. 1 ranking to Los Angeles and played up against powerful Windward.
The Owls were swept by the third-ranked team in Division 3-AA, 25-9, 25-19, 25-12.
“They were amazing, they played flawless; they had a ton of tall girls blocking,” Laguna coach Jim Alzina said of Windward.
Going up against a big block, Grace Woolf recorded seven kills and Hannah White added six kills.
Alzina said despite the one-sided loss his team “played excellent. We just ran into a team that played unbelievably well.”
This is a big week for the Owls (7-1). They return home on Thursday to play Pacifica Christian, the No. 3 team in Division 4A, and travel to second-ranked Cate on Saturday.
