Cate freshman Delaney Mayfield had a career night with nine kills, seven blocks and a .500 hitting percentage, leading the Rams to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 sweep over visiting St. Bonaventure on Tuesday.
“It was pretty fun to watch,” Cate coach Greg Novak said of the 6-foot Mayfield. “All her blocks were straight down blocks and she had a bunch of soft blocks that created points as well.”
Cydney Pierce was Cate’s top hitter with 11 kills.
The Rams (4-1), ranked No. 3 in Division 4, travel to No. 1 Pacifica Christian in Santa Monica on Saturday.
