Sophomore Lourda Weger put down 17 kills and Caroline Anderson added 12 kills as Santa Barbara pulled out a five-set non-league girls volleyball win at Oxnard on Wednesday. The scores were 24-26, 25-19, 23-25, 25-11, 15-13.
“This was a tough match after playing Ventura last night, but the girls showed a lot of heart and pulled out a hard-fought victory,” said Dons coach John Gannon.
Jackie Starnes led a stellar defensive effort with 21 digs. Dan Miller picked up 17 digs and Bailey Roach added 16,
Santa Barbara setter handed on 59 assists.
