Santa Barbara High’s girls volleyball team continues to roll.
The Dons won their second Channel League match on Tuesday, beating Ventura, 25-20, 25-22, 27-25. They are 7-4 overall, with all four losses coming at the Archbishop Mitty Tournament against powerhouse teams from northern California.
Sophomore Lourda Weger had 11 kills to lead Santa Barbara. Tessa Dewell added seven kills and provided a steady presence on the outside, said coach John Gannon. Bailey Roach picked up 15 digs and Lexi Rottman dished our 33 sets.
“Ventura is a quality team, but we got contributions from all our offensive players,” said Gannon.
“We’re doing pretty well,” he added. “I think we’re playing some good volleyball right now.”
The Dons play at Oxnard on Wednesday.
