The top-ranked Carpinteria girls tennis team defeated Villanova on Thursday in a Frontier League match, 16-2.
“We had a solid day in doubles with Odessa Stork and Kassandra Ni winning all of their sets 6-0,” Coach Charles Bryant said. “Merissa Souza at No. 3 singles went 2-1 and had a ‘golden set’ in the first round (she did not lose a single point).”
In doubles, No. 2 Natalie Saito/Kelsie Bryant went 3-0 and did not drop a game. The No. 3 doubles, Makenna Pike/Emily Saito also went 3-0 and had a revenge match against a team they lost to earlier in the season.
The Warriors will travel to play Mission Prep on Friday and play San Luis Obispo on Saturday.
Carpinteria is now 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the Frontier League.
