Top-ranked Carpinteria went 9-0 in singles without losing a game and rolled to a 15-3 win over Bishop Diego in a Frontier League girls tennis match.
Kelsie Bryant, Kassandra Ni and Odessa Stork led the way in singles for the Warriors, No. 1 in CIF Division 5.
Bishop Diego stacked its No. 1 doubles with their top two singles players and gave Carpinteria some good competition. The team of Meredith Amspoker and Emilee Krablin went 3-0.
“It was great experience for our doubles teams to play against them,” said Carpinteri coach Charles Bryant. “All three of our doubles teams had some great points and showe a lot of potential but we just had trouble with consistency and had way too many unforced errors that really set us back. But I was excited to see those great points and now we just need to keep having more and more of them which I believe we are capable of doing.”
Carpinteria is 12-1 overall and 6-0 in the Frontier League. Bishop is 3-4, 3-3.
