Top-ranked Carpinteria improved its Frontier League girls tennis record to 9-0 and clinched a tie for the title with a 15-3 win over Santa Clara. The Warriors go after their unprecedented third straight league crown on Thursday against second-place Nordhoff. Coach Charles Bryant used his doubles players at singles and they did not lose a game. Gabi Montes De Oca, Lesly Zapata and Natalie Saito all went 3-0. In doubles Alondra Costilla-Emily Saito and Kathryn Blair-Madison Cleek also swept. Carpinteria is 16-2 and the No. 1 team in CIF Division 5.
