San Marcos finished a successful regular season with a 243-265 win over Santa Barbara in a Channel League girls golf match at Birnam Wood Country Club on Thursday.

Lauren Pitchford and Melissa Jewkes tied for team honors at 46 and Kelsey Gellert shot a 47 for the Royals, who went 6-2 in league and 12-2 overall. The only losses were against Dos Pueblos.
“I am so proud of the way we played today and this entire season,” San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton said. “These girls have continued to improve, challenge each other, and more importantly, they are great teammates to one another. Their passion for the game and commitment to the team is the reason for their success this year.”
Santa Barbara’s Eleonora DiCarlo was the match medalist at 43. Teammate Isabella Doub fired a 45.
The next competition for both teams is the Channel League Individual Championships on Monday at Tuesday at Soule Park in Ojai.
