Maggie Daly shot a season-best 75 to earn medalist honors on Monday, and SBCC cruised to its sixth straight women’s golf victory in WSC No. 6 at Brookside GC in Pasadena.
Daly, a freshman from Alamo, Calif., finished at 4-over-par. Fanny Johansson and Vanesa Villa shot 81 for the Vaqueros and Jackie Ramirez carded an 82.
SBCC’s four scoring players totaled 319, beating Canyons by 27 shots. The Vaqueros (53-3) stayed perfect in WSC play with a 24-0 record. Canyons is second at 18-6.
“I was really happy to see Maggie step up,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “It was a narrow course and we had difficulty putting, except for Maggie. We played well but I still think we can go even lower.”
SBCC will host the WSC Championships and WSC No. 7 & 8 on Sunday, Nov. 3 and Monday, Nov. 4 at the Alisal River Course in Solvang.
