SBCC quarterback Jarred Evans is the Offensive Player of the Week in the American Pacific Conference for the second straight week.
The 6-3 sophomore from Queens, N.Y., completed 25-of-42 passes for a career-high 335 yards and two touchdowns in a stirring 25-23 comeback win over No. 24 L.A. Valley. He also ran 17 times for 56 yards.
With 2:21 to play and trailing by a point, Evans guided the Vaqueros on a 79-yard drive that led to Marcus Hoerberg’s game-winning field goal with 7.6 seconds left.
The unbeaten Vaqueros (4-0, 1-0) are ranked No. 23 in the state and No. 13 in Southern Cal.
