The impressive performance by the Dos Pueblos boys cross team at the Mt. SAC Invitational has earned it the No. 1 ranking in CIF Division 2 this week.
The Chargers finished seven in the Division 1-2 Team Sweepstakes, but they were the top Division 2 team in the race of highly ranked teams. Team winner Arcadia is No. 1 in the Division 1 poll.
The San Marcos boys are ranked eighth in Division 3, and the Cate boys are fifth in Division 5.
For the girls, Dos Pueblos is ranked10th in Division 2 and Cate is 11th in Division 5.
In water polo, Dos Pueblos holds down the No. 2 spot in the Division 2 rankings behind Agoura and Murrieta Valley. The Chargers have a big game Thursday at No. 8-ranked San Marcos, which is coming off a championship at the San Diego Open. Santa Barbara is 10th in this week’s poll.
Carpinteria remains the No. 1 team in Division 5 girls tennis. The Warriors clinched their third straight Frontier League title last week. Santa Barbara stays in the No. 5 spot in the Division 1 rankings.
Cate and Laguna Blanca remain 1-2 in the Division 4-A girls volleyball poll. Their showdown for the Condor League championship is Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Laguna.
