Presidio Sports is thrilled to announce a new partnership with?Santa Barbara Brewing Company?forged to raise money to provide at least two scholarships for next summer’s local Junior Lifeguard program.?Every week, Presidio Sports will collect predictions from a local celebrity on the winners of NFL football games. Each correct pick will trigger a donation that will accumulate throughout the season.
The picks will be posted online each week and will also appear in the print weekly Santa Barbara Sentinel.
Local volleyball legend Todd Rogers is first up to the plate this week. Rogers, the 2008 Olympic Champion and one of the most decorated beach volleyball players in the history of the sport, just left for an international tournament in China, but will be in Santa Barbara making a public appearance at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table’s Fall Classic on Wednesday, October 30.
For his picks, Rogers went with all the favorites, maximizing his fundraising potential.
Professional surfer Lakey Peterson, the 2011 U.S. Open of Surfing champion, is scheduled to predict winners for next week.
The promotion will provide at least two scholarships for the seven-week summer camp that promotes fitness and an active lifestyle. For over 40 years, the Santa Barbara Junior Lifeguard program has helped develop youth with strenuous daily workouts, water safety, first aid, surf lifesaving, marine education, lifeguard competitions and more. Physical fitness and development are balanced with self-esteem and camaraderie.
The Santa Barbara Brewing Company, located at 501 State Street since 1995, shows all NFL games and hosts Happy Hour M-F from 3 pm to 6 pm.
