Cate’s first Tri-Valley League water polo win of the season is one to remember.
Matthew Firestone scored with one second on the clock to propel Cate to a 14-13 victory over Nordhoff.
With 23 seconds remaining, the Rams drew up a play during their final timeout. With five seconds left the ball went to Firestone, who fired a rocket to the corner of the cage for the game winner.
Junior captain Zack Allen had a massive game, scoring seven goals. Firestone added four goals and Alex Brown scored three goals.
Cate is 1-4 in league and 3-5 overall.
