SBCC dropped two women’s volleyball matches to a pair of unbeaten Orange Empire League teams in the SBCC Quad Tournament.
The Vaqueros, ranked No. 4 in the state, lost to No. 21 Fullerton 3-1 (25-12, 20-25, 25-16, 25-19) and No. 9 Golden West 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-12).
Jenna Anderson topped SBCC (3-4) with 12 kills in each match. Kristy Kearney had 10 kills in the morning match and Madison Waddell added nine. Eryn Young recorded 20 digs.
“We played well in the first two sets but too many unforced errors cost us in the last two sets,” noted coach Ed Gover.
Fullerton is 7-0 on the year while Golden West, last year’s state runner-up, is 3-0.
SBCC travels to Glendale on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.
