Madison Waddell, Jasmine Ward and Jenna Anderson led a balanced attack with seven kills on Friday night as No. 7 SBCC swept Santa Monica 3-0 in the first round of the L.A. Pierce Women’s Volleyball Invitational.
Kristy Kearney and Megan Lunger added six kills each in the 25-18, 25-16, 25-19 triumph. Eryn Young had 2 aces and Lara Bangs recorded 12 digs.
“We played a steady match and solid ball-control by Lara and Eryn prevented Santa Monica from getting close,“ said coach Ed Gover.
The Vaqueros will battle No. 5 San Diego Mesa in the semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m.
