Sophomore Madison Waddell had 14 kills on Wednesday and Eryn Young had an outstanding match with five aces and 15 digs, leading No. 7 SBCC to a 3-0 women’s volleyball win at Glendale.
Santa Barbara (4-4) won 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 in an all-Vaquero battle. Glendale (3-6) also uses the Vaquero nickname.
Trailing 18-13 in the third set, Young served eight straight points, including three aces, to give the visitors a 21-18 advantage.
“We were very steady the whole match,” said coach Ed Gover. “Our setters (Ari Garner and Madelon Leiphardt) did a great job of distributing the ball to all the hitters.”

SBCC will compete in the two-day L.A. Pierce Tournament on Friday, opening against Santa Monica at 6:30 p.m.
