Sophomore linebacker Morgan Nevin has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the American Pacific Conference.
The 6-1, 230-pounder had 15 tackles (5 solo) and recovered a pair of fumbles that led to SBCC’s final two touchdowns in a come-from-behind 15-14 football victory over Allan Hancock.
It was the Vaqueros’ first win against Hancock in 21 years. The Bulldogs entered the season opener ranked No. 24 in the state and No. 15 in Southern Cal.
SBCC moved into the rankings this week at No. 20 in Southern Cal. The Vaqueros will host East L.A. in their home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
