Daniel Loveday and Jamie Sporcic scored in a three-minute span of the second half on Friday night, leading SBCC to a 2-0 men’s soccer shutout at Glendale.
“We created a lot of chances in the first half and knocked the ball around very well,” said coach John Sisterson. “Our score could have been higher.”
Loveday scored on a scramble in the box in the 55th minute and Sporcic converted from close range on an assist by Adam Colton in the 57th for SBCC (3-3, 3-1). Glendale fell to 2-6-1 and 1-3.
Juan Rodriguez and the defense posted their third shutout in four conference matches. Sisterson praised the defensive efforts of center back George Wakefield and Juan Diaz Casallas.
Santa Barbara hosts L.A. Mission on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
