Quarterback Stephen McCaffery threw six touchdown passes, and Laguna Blanca won a wild 8-man football game under the lights at Coast Union in Cambria, 50-48, on Friday.
It was the third win in a row for the Owls (3-1).
McCaffery shredded Coast Union’s defense. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 448 yards and no interceptions.
McCaffery connected with Quentin Tedesco on four scoring strikes and hit Andrew Vignolo for the other two. The quarterback also ran for 105 yards and a touchdown.
“He managed the game really well,” said coach Shane Lopes.
Tedesco also played big on defense, said Lopes. He forced four fumbles and had three takeaways.
Laguna Blanca led 34-27 at halftime.
