San Marcos finished third at the San Luis Obispo girls volleyball tournament on Saturday.
After beating Buena in their first playoff match, the Royals lost to Central Valley Christian in the semifinals. They bounced back to defeat Clovis North, 25-17, for third place.
Chloe Allen was named to the all-tournament team.
San Marcos went 3-0 on Friday, beating Oak Park, Morro Bay and Lemoore. On Saturday, the Royals swept Clovis East (25-18, 25-12), lost to Central Valley Christian in three sets (17-25, 25-22, 16-14) and beat Arroyo Grande in two (25-19, 25-17)
“We learned a lot and had some good competition. As a team we served great,” said San Marcos coach Erica Downing.
