Providence suffered its first loss in girls volleyball Tuesday night, falling to Channel Islands in three sets, 25-21, 28-26, 25-21.
Despite the defeat, assistant coach Dale Colburn said “it was probably one of our best matches of the season. It definitely as the best team we have played this year.”
Ozie LeSage led the Patriots with six kills, 19 digs and three service aces. Katie Hodson added five kills and Abby Oppenhuizen had four. Olivia Barroca picked up 19 digs.
“The girls played with great effort and intensity, and each game was closely contested,” said Colburn.
Providence plays Laguna Blanca in a key Condor League match on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Westmont College.
