Santa Barbara played solid volleyball down the stretch and outlasted a tough Thousand Oaks team, 13-25, 25-18, 25-16. 20-25, 15-12, in a non-league match Tuesday at J.R. Richards Gym.
“In the fifth set, we played really focused,” Santa Barbara coach John Gannon said. “We hit over .300 for the set and played the kind of volleyball you want to play in a long match.”
The Dons spread out their attack. Tessa Dewell led the team with 12 kills followed by Jessyca Beksa with 11 and Katie Gallivan with eight. Setter Lexi Rottman had 46 assists.
Bailey Roach led the defense with 17 digs.
The Dons (3-0) are back in action Wednesday at Newbury Park.
