Dos Pueblos recovered from a slow start and defeated Oxnard in four sets in a non-league girls volleyball match on Tuesday night.
The Chargers made 15 unforced errors in the first set and lost 23-25. They rebounded to take the next three, 25-21, 25-11, 25-19.
“Our defense really stepped it up tonight,” DP coach Todd Garrett said. “Cha Cha Fisher, Sam Sander and Natalie Klapp kept us in a lot of rallies. Teah Burdick served tough all match.”
Klapp and McKenna Goss each pounded 13 kills to lead the DP attack, while Burdick added eight.
Sander had 13 digs and served three aces. Setter Maddie Swenumson handed out 30 assists for the Chargers (2-0).
