Cate rolled through the competition and won the Carpinteria Girls Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
The Rams won eight matches and beat Nordhoff in the title game, 25-19. They also beat Carpinteria, Azusa, Yucca Valley and Cabrillo.
Cydney Pierce of the Rams was named the Most Valuable Player. She had 37 kills on the day. Peyton Shelburne was named to the all-tournament team and freshman Delaney Mayfield played well, said coach Greg Novak.
“We’ve gotten beat up in this tournament in the past, so it was nice to be one of the leaders and come out on top,” said Novak.
