Cate opened its girls tennis season with a 15-3 win at Villanova on Tuesday.
The Rams swept all nine singles sets. Their No. 1 doubles team of Victoria Herman and Pharibe Pope were 2-0 after subbing out in the third round.
“We were pleased with our first effort of the season,” Cate coach Barbara DeGroot said. “We have nine new players this year joining our experienced returnees so there’s lots of good energy. We’re looking forward to a fun and successful season.”
