Vanesa Villa and Jackie Ramirez carded 78s on Monday to lead SBCC to its second straight conference win in WSC No. 2 at Simi Hills Golf Course.
Villa, a freshman from Dos Pueblos High, and Ramirez, a sophomore from Porterville, tied for second place, one shot behind the medalist, Sara Soderberg of Glendale.
Haley True added an 80 for Santa Barbara, whose total of 317 was 15 shots better than Canyons. The Vaqueros are 23-2 overall and 8-0 in WSC action.
“Jackie shot 37 on the front nine and she’s been playing better and better,“ said coach Chuck Melendez. “Our strength is our depth and I think we‘re going to keep improving.”
The Vaqueros will travel to Bakersfield for WSC No. 3 on Monday at Stockdale GC.
