The Santa Barbara High Boys Varsity Beach Volleyball team began making its playoff push this past Saturday at Will Roger’s State Beach.
Without head coach Chad Arneson, who was with the SBHS girls indoor team at a tournament in San Jose, the boys were led by assistant Morgan Mainz.
Despite an injury which sidelined standout Barron Mainz, the pairs of Jasper Rhodes/Harrison Schell, Nico Smith/Kyle Skinner and John Chambliss/Levi Janney defeated teams from Marina (2-1) and Camarillo (3-0).
In the final matches of the season before the start of playoffs, the Dons will face Palisades and Windward on September 28 at West Beach as part of the Santa Barbara AVP.
