Special Olympics Southern California honors Santa Barbara’s Jerry Siegel

Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) is pleased to announce Jerry Siegel as this year?s recipient of the Michael W. Harahan Outstanding Adult Volunteer Award for Santa Barbara County Region.

This award honors volunteers? accomplishments within SOSC, as well as their hard work and dedication to help Special Olympics athletes succeed and reach their goals.

Siegel serves as head coach for the soccer and track teams and has been a part of SOSC for 7 years. Throughout his time with SOSC, Siegel has participated in several events, including Summer and Fall Games, serves on the Special Olympics Santa Barbara Leadership Council, and the School Games Management Team.

The Michael W. Harahan Outstanding Adult Volunteer Award has been recognizing volunteers that go above and beyond since 1999, through funding provided by the Simmons-Balser Foundation. The award is presented to stand-out individuals from each Special Olympics Southern California regional program.
