The Santa Barbara Foresters picked up a key California Collegiate League victory on Tuesday with their first win of the season over the Conejo Oaks in a 4-1 decision.
The Foresters scored all of their runs after they fell behind 1-0 in the fourth inning.
Joey Epperson and Shane Hoelscher banged out three hits each for Santa Barbara, which also saw Colt Atwood record two hits from the leadoff spot.
Keaton Siomkin earned the victory for the Foresters as the starter struck out five batters in five innings of work.Andrew Vasquez and Jordan Stephens split the final four innings without allowing a run.
The result leaves Santa Barbara one game behind the San Luis Obispo Blues for first place in the CCL North. Conejo falls a half-game behind the Foresters.
