NFL linebacker and former Carpinteria High star Chris Gocong is returning to his old stomping grounds to conduct a one-day youth football camp on Sunday (July 7).
The camp at Carpinteria High’s Memorial Stadium is being organized by the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County and is open to youngsters ages 8 to 14. It will run from 1 to 3 p.m.
Carpinteria Indians youth football coaches Ron Contreras and Richard Frausto will assist Gocong in running campers through drills that will showcase speed, strength, explosiveness, ability and skill.
Parents are asked to accompany their children to sign a waiver before the drills begin.
In addition to the camp, the Indians Youth Football will be taking player signups for the fall season.
Gocong, 29, is a free agent at the present time. He played three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and two with the Cleveland Browns.
